For 13 years I'm receiving foreigners at home.
I not bringing just accommodation: I can help you to better know this amazing city., to find a good spanish teacher, or to take tango classes.
If you're looking for a real local experience, and at the same time be comfortable and safe... no doubt: mine is your house in BA.

Don't wake up too early - nightlife in Buenos Aires starts very late
On weekends, most people have dinner around midnight, and go out around 2 AM.
Do use taxis - they are unexpensive and safe.
You don't need to negotiate the price: all taxis have meters. Prices are controled by the government. A ride to the airport is approximately 60 pesos (USD 20). Rides within the touristic areas of the city seldom exceed 12 pesos (USD 4).
Do try the OUTLETS
Want to buy and pay less ? try the outlet stores ( a lot of worldwide famous branches) they are located in Palermo . Cordoba Avenue is the place begining at the number 4000 you can buy leather, shoes, jeans, t-shirts with a 50% off. Is the best way to save money, buy gifts and walk.
Don't forget to exchange your card with the doorman in nightclubs
In many bars when you enter they give you a red or blue card, when you buy your first beverage you have to present this card so the cashier willexchange it for you, when you live the bar don't forget to give it to the doorman.
