Terms

1.    The site’s business is linking hosts with travellers.
2.    Hosts are invited to set up an account. Accounts are free.
3.    If the host requires 10 pictures and a priority position in Search Results, a Sponsored Account is available at USD 5 a month, or USD 50 a year.
4.    To set up an account and start receiving reservations, we only require a brief description of the place that is offered, and contact information.
5.    To make a booking, Travellers do not need to register. First they browse search results for the desired location. When they find appropriate host(s), they send a Booking Request, where they provide information about themselves.
6.    We make sure Hosts respond to Booking Requests as soon as possible.
7.    Booking Requests can be accepted or rejected. In case of a rejected booking request, reasons are provided by the host. It can be: place is not available on these dates; personal incompatibility based on provided information; other (will be specified).
8.    If a booking request is accepted, the traveller has 3 days to finalize the booking. To do that, we require 10% payment of the total cost of the stay + USD 2.  Traveller will have to pay the rest directly to the host.
9.    To make the payment, Travellers can use Paypal, Moneybookers and Stormpay.  Payment is possible by using credit cards, debit cards, E-checks and all other ways accepted by these 3 companies.
10.    After the payment has been made, the traveller receives contact information of the selected host, and all further contacts are made directly between the host and the traveller. The host also receives contact information of the traveller at this time. Rentasofa’s involvement stops here. 
11.     We do not refund money paid to Rentasofa except in one case: if the stay is cancelled by the host.  To avoid abuse, we consider such cancellations an exceptional circumstance and suspend host accounts with multiple cancellations.
12.    Rentasofa allows hosts to be represented by other people. They are called agents. An agent can represent as many hosts as desired. It is meant to address the needs of hosts who have  irregular, or no internet access. Rentasofa is not involved in the relationship between the agent and the host. The way their interaction is organized is entirely their private matter. Rentasofa does require contact information for both agent and host to create an account represented by agent. When a booking is finalized, the traveller is provided with the agent’s contact information. At this point, the agent links the traveller with the host – often agents are also in charge of airport pickups and other services. In case a house or an apartments are being rented, it is often the agent who lets the traveler in and collects rent. Rentasofa does not allow agents to collect any fees from the travellers, beyond the 90% of the total cost of the stay, left to pay after finalization of the booking. Agents are free to offer additional tourism-related services, such as city tours,  and collect fees for these services. We suspend host accounts represented by Agents who violated the No Additional Fee policy.
13.    Rentasofa offers an Affiliate Program, to enhance its presence on the worldwide web, and to allow more people to take advantage of rentasofa development.
14.    We invite Travellers to evaluate their hosts. Evaluations are  checked by Rentasofa before publication. We reserve the right not to publish comments that we find unsuitable. The same applies to Travel Tips submissions.
15.    We reserve the right to monitor and edit the Free Text part of the Host Account,  Other Services;  we reserve the right to monitor Comments in the Booking Requests, Other Reasons for Rejection of Booking Requests; we reserve the right to monitor and delete unsuitable pictures uploaded by hosts.
16.    We treat personal information of our website users with utmost care. Read more on our Privacy Policy.
17.    Customer Service Standards: we will answer all messages within 48 hours, usually within 24.
18.    Important disclaimers: Rentasofa does not verify the information contained in the Host Accounts, or the identity of the contact person. Rentasofa does not assume responsibility or guarantee the accuracy of the information contained in the host profiles or in travellers’ booking requests.  Rentasofa can not be held responsible for any disputes that may arise between the hosts and the travellers.
